Hi everyone, I am new here and new to an anemone. I usually spend my time on seahorse.org due to my two seahorse tanks but now that I have an anemone I have greatly enjoyed your site to get some more info-so thank you first.
Second I bought an anemone just marked carpet and thats all the LFS owner knew. I believe it to be a Haddoni but thought I would check. My pictures are not that great but it is about 1 1/2-2 inches wide. The tentacles are short and it is light brown. The tips appear to be a yellow. There does not appear to be any spots on the underneath. I have had it about three weeks and it seems to be getting comfy. It has started eating squid and is much stickier now. It settled on a spot on the glass about half way up and has not moved much since day one. There is a covered koralia right underneath it. I have a 35 gallon hex with 130 watts of PC lights. I will upgrade now that the anemone seems to be doing okay. I have a pair of Ocellaris clowns and three sexy shrimp in there. The tank is set up just to have the anemone. I was hoping the clowns would like it. It was larger(maybe about 3 inches) at the store and had skunk clowns hosting it. Currently one or two of the sexy shrimp hang out in it. Will the sexy shrimp hurt it and will the clowns kick the shrimp out to host the anemone. I cant find much info on sexy shrimp other than they have been found in carpet anemones in the wild. I thank you for any help and advice.

Welcome to reef central:D

It looks like a haddoni to me too. With good light and feeding it regularly it should color back up. If it does well you should have a really hardy anemone some day.

I can see how small it is in that picture with the powerhead in it. wow that is tiny. I am pretty sure its a haddoni. For a haddoni to be truely happy it needs to be in the sand.

I wondered if I should move it to the sand or leave it alone.

It seems happy there but if it starts to move around.. then put it in the sand.
