skimmer size too big am I over skimming ?

I have a octopus skimmer that is rated for up to 400 gals. I have 200gals of total water volume. I'm afraid I have been over skimming and wonder how I should adjust this skimmer so that it is not over skimming. Any suggestions?

nope your fine with octos usually you are safe cutting the reccomendation in half

I run a ex-2 on a 55g display with 10g sump/fug.
Is this over skimming? :)

as long as your tank holds more water than the skimmer body id say youre ok ;)

What is a sign of over skimming? I have a Euro Reef CS 8/2 on my 120 and I can barely hold a foam head on the lower setting, if I raise the pipe it breaks the head and is to turbulent to make any foam I put in a new impeller and volute with no better production of skimmate. Thanks
