What do you program into your controllers as far as cut off ph for a calcium reactor? Or do you just set it up to run a certain amount of time per day?

I set mine for 6.5 and then it cuts till the pH rises to 6.7
You can also use an hours per day system but the problem is that as hoses and valves get gunked, the drip rates and bubble counts keep changing daily.

What calcium reactor are you using and what controller do you have?

Lighthouse controller and MRC 1

I'm using a modified Korallin 1502, AquariumPlants electronic controller and an RKE. Runs sweet.

Great answer but the question was what do you program into the controller to turn on and off the reactor? PH?

RobbyG - running your reactor that way, what is your effluent coming out of the reactor and what is your bubble count and your drip count per minute?

I set mine a little different and for a reason. I read that the pH is different in certain CR's with certain media. I use an MRC CR-2 and an ACII. I have a cup where my effluent drips into and collects, then drips out through another tube and into the sump. I have my pH probe in this cup. I am using ARM fine grade media. I have my solenoid on the co2 bottle turn on a 6.50 and off again at 6.55 (I think). I don't count drips or bubbles as my controller takes care of all this. I also monitor the pH in my tank.

I set mine at 6.7 with a hysteresis of 0.1 That turns the CO2 off at 6.6.

another question for all of you guys.
Do you check your effulent after your second chamber or after your first chamber?
