I know of an RC member who has recently talked to Greg and was told/shown by Greg these new controllable t5's that RG would be coming out with. I'm just wondering what info was out there about them?

Hi All,

Here's a little information for you...

1. These units are being designed and manufactured by AquaIllumination, not ReefGeek. ReefGeek will be a retail dealer for the product line, but the products will also be available through other retail outlets and other on-line stores.

2. Two versions: A pre-wired retrofit kit and a complete fixture. AquaIllumination is hoping to release the pre-wired kits early next year and the fixtures this Spring.

3. Two "Styles": Dimmable and Standard. Both styles will feature a controller, but only the dimmable version will have the ability to gradually ramp up and ramp down the intensity of the lights.

4. Designed to perform as well, if not better than some of the higher-end T5 units currently on the market.

5. 2, 3 and 4 foot units to start.

6. Manufactured in the US.

7. Pricing is still to be determined, but should be cheaper than most of the European units on the market.

Warmest Regards,
Greg @ ReefGeek
