View Full Version : best place for sabae and help with lighting

I just ordered a sabae anemone from LA, and expect it to be here around tuesday. I have a 75g, 6-7 months old mixed reef with 2 percula clowns, 2 firefish, 1 YWG, 1 LM blenny, and 1 yellow wrasse (also ordered a lamarack female angel in the same order as the nem). tank lighting is 8 T5 bulbs (50/50 daylight/actinic) and I keep a mix of LPS, SPS, zoas, palys, mushrooms and some gorgs. feeding is mysis shrimp, and I have an octopus 200NW skimmer for skimmer.

I have 2 questions. the first, when should my lights go on and off? I am putting them on a timer tomorrow, and need to know the best times.

second question is where should I place the anemone? I would would clear that area of the tank so that there were little/ no corals there, which is easy since the corals are all attached to rubble, and the only corals attached to a large rock is the colony of zoas on the right side of the tank. here is a picture of the tank as it looks now (I snapped the lights on to take this quickly, so everything is closed up and fish are hiding)

sabae's like to be in the sand against a rock i do believe. and lighting depends on when you are there to enjoy the tank.. you could do 9am-9pm or 10-10. you should have a 10hour lights out period tho.
