hey everyone...im setting up a 65 sps only tank well with 2-3 lps in it. i have a 175 halide right now with 14k hamilton bulb...and 96w pc actinic on my 38. What would you light a 65 with? I have a 400w ballast m59 that needs to be wired up and its ready to rock. Is that over kill for a 65? dual 175s? dual 250s? I will be getting probably t5 supplements maybe 2 36" so what is your thoughts on it?

I have a 58, which has the same footprint, just not as tall. For a while I was running 2*175 over it, but I prefer a bluer look. 175 20K bulbs were too dim for me. Back in June I upgraded to 2*250 ( using 20K bulbs ) and couldn't be happier. Been getting great growth and have been able to keep my corals anywhere in the tank.

Ive got 2x150s and theyre fine, but 2x250ws would certainly be better. With 14k phoenix Im still getting good growth, but 250ws would allow you to have clams on the sand.

I have the 2x250 watt MH 36" Odyysea over my 65g. and love it. I replaced the bulbs with Phoenix 14k's and the corals glow!
