I found this stand pipe very helpful to keep the noise down in the Peninsula style tank and corner overflow box with Wave boxes.

Tool require:

Dremel with turbine bit and cutting blade
PVC cutter
hand Saws

Part require:

PVC pipe
End cap
and 3"x2" coupling

This is a 2" durso i build for my friend Hogall

1. you need cut a piece of PVC pipe with the length that need for your overflow box.

2. Use a hand saw to cut a figure C on your durso pipe (See picture)

3. Use the dremel to router out the lip on the coupling. (see picture)

I am sorry for the lack of teaching skill (That is why i'm a Marine ). The above durso is exactly like the CJ stand pipe which i used to paid $27 a piece plus tax, plus shipping while i can DIY for less than $10. I hope this period of instruction helps... :D
