Some sort of anemone I gather. The 25 gallon has been up for about 2 months and this little thing was a hitchhiker on the LR I purchased. I went on vacation, and came home and it had split into 2. It is growing quite well, in spite of my not having very good lighting (30 watts in a 25 gallon, I am thinking of upgrading to some T-5s though as I like the corals I added), and no skimmer on this (nitrates around 10-20), so I gather its hardy. My Percula Clowns have no interest (not surprisingly).

Just curious what this is, and what I should know about it.....Thanks for any advice....I might take an updated pic tomorrow, this is when I first set the tank up.http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll101/ksrobey/IMG_0707.jpg

I would say a little zoanthid. If you could get a front shot you would prob be able to see if it has a mouth tho.

Looks almost like a baby Duncan.

+1 on the front shot.

I can see how some would say zoanthid from the first pic, here is a pic I just took, it is now 2 pieces and much larger.

Thanks

Don't know much about them other than being a "nuisance", should I get rid of them while I can, they are isolated to a single small rock that I could just boil.

I think they are cool looking, but I don't want them to take over the tank.

From what I hear they take over quickly, dont cut them as the cut pieces that get loose will regrow in different parts of the tank. Take the rock out of the tank boil it.

don't boil majano rocks- use Joes Juice instead.
