Whats wrong with my BTA?

I found my bulb tip anemone on its face inside of a rock yesterday and I put it on a different rock and it isnt looking to good. Will it survive? How do I treat it?

They can come back from that condition, but it doesn't look good. They arrive in that shape for a number of reasons, being unhealthy to begin with among them, but sorry to say usually rough handling, poor lighting, water flow, tank chemistry, starvation.

none the less, don't give up on it- Make sure nothing in your tank is messing with it for starters (over agressive clowns, peppermint shrimp etc). I personally would say that you should move it to an area where it wont get blasted by your flow, but it will still be getting some gentle movement and a moderate amount of light. When they are struggling like yours is, direct flow/high light exposure will only worsen things.

What and how often are you feeding it? what kind of lighting and skimmer are you using? I would recommend feeding some silversides (I like Prosalt's)- just make sure you break up the fish into small chunks- especially while your bta is as stressed as it is looking. let us know how things progress-

It almost looks like somthing was picking at it. Is that whiteish area an injury or just mis-coloring due to lying face down?

yea thats what happened to my first nem i ever had. mine died because i didnt have good water parameters and not enough light. it looked just like yours.

I would say with good water parameters and time that anemone should be able to recover.

whats your prams?

did you damage the foot on the way out of the rock?

how much light do you have on you tank?

is he hosting any clowns?

do you feed him weekly?

if so what do you feed him?

is his mouth always open like that?

is he atached toa rock or sitting on it?

were did you get him from?

also how long has the tank ben running for?
