What do you have him in with? Tried adding any fish after? I have had my passer for a year now, he's about 6". He seemed fine at first, but after a few months, he owns the tank and almost killed a very aggressive purple tang. I am going to be upgrading to a 265g and I could hold the passer until last probably. He is with a calm 32" brazillian dragon moray. I am considering a clown trigger, sohal tang and maybe a lunare wrasse. The thought of a miniatus grouper has crossed my mind, but I like having little damsels for picking up scraps the bigger fish leave behind.

So what do you have your passer angel with? What size tank and fish? What order added? Thanks.

Well a mature Passer if one of the most aggressive fish you can keep in a captive environment. I have seen them make a big Clown trigger cower in the corner. There are always exceptions, the clown trigger could be very territorial. If you try it, you have to know that there is a good chance there will be world war 3 and have to options for the fish. Most people have not seen an adult passer angel. Unfortunately they are missing out because they are one of the most stunning angels when they reach maturity. T

I can always keep the passer in another tank while the other fish get established. I know how aggressive they are, mine started out tame, but once established, is such a bully. That is why I was picking other very aggressive fish, clown trigger, sohal tang. There is a nice full grown (+12") blue angel at a LFS, but I think he'd be too cramped in a 265g, ashame he is in a 40g right now. My passer definitely isn't full grown, but definitely fully mature and adult colors, here's a bad pic of him (hate the iPhone).

Do passer's require cooler temps being from the area of the Pacific they are from?

Hello,

I just created a user name today and have really never been to this site. I have a passer that wasn't doing so hot the past few months and now that he's healthy, he's starting to become more agressive....never was prior to being sick. I have him in with a puffer and an eel. great fish though. Getting ready ot add in a grouper...we'll see what happens!!

GH, As far as I know, no. Mine is fine with normal temps, 78-80.

Dustin, they are a great fish. Actually really hardy, as with most aggressive fish. I have mine with a 32" Brazilian dragon moray eel and a large 3 stripe damsel. What kind of puffer and eel do you have yours with? What grouper are you adding? Id be cautious about adding anything into a passers territory.

I have a Arothron meleagris puffer 8in, Kidako eel 16in, and a Polleni grouper 6in. I really would like to add a mappa puffer at some point. Not to sure if they will get along though. I hear different stories all over, yes they will and no they won't??

That makes your passer 7.5" ?
The blue edges to the body fins looks really nice.
Almost like a blue fish with a crisscross of brown spots

Thx!!

I'm going to try and post some pics of my tank and the other two fish I have tonight. I'll keep you posted.

DamnPepShrimp.....how about a pic of that brazillian dragon moray. Is that similar looks to a Hawaiian dragon eel?

Those Brazilian dragon's are so sick...

Dustin, I can't stop looking at your guinea fowl. IMO they are the best looking puffers out there (yes even better than male golden's) Definately on my "must keep" list.

My BDM is getting bigger and bolder all the time. I can see one of those being a good tankmate for a passer.

Mine is very calm, he doesnt bother a thing and I actually have a few damsels in there he could eat but doesnt. I hand feed him, he's a gentle giant. Unfortunately I think I have to get rid of him. The tank is at my brothers and he's getting out of the hobby and selling his house. I have no room for the passer or eel, there's no need for an upgrade now, well see though, nothing set in stone yet. :(

Looks like I have good news! I should be able to keep the passer and BDM afterall! I just gotta find a cheap 180g to put them in!
