I Have two questions for some recently acquired beginner SPS monti caps, Rainbow pocci and Pink Bird nest frags at the NJRC Frag Swap.

I would like to know what carbon brand should I use and how often should I change it?

Will Aquamend Epoxy putty have an ill effect if used in the tank?
The frags came on plugs and disc.

I want to fix frags to the rock; the damn hermit or snails knocked down a frag already!

I use warner marine activated carbon. Its one of the better quality carbon media available based on an RC article with graphs. Not sure which forum it was in but it led me to buy warner marine products a couple years ago.

Black Diamond is a good carbon thats commonly available at LFS and even big box pet stores. Anything from BulkReefSupply is good too.

Aquamend is fine to use.
