would a 2x 24w T5 fixture be enough for a 20 gal long sps frag tank? 30X 12X 12.

You want to go with 5 to 8w per gal. good rule to go by. The high end I would go with at least 160w. alt. atinic and 10k or what you think looks best. or you could go with a 150mh 15k and maybe one T5 atinic.

Its perfect for that type of tank - I use 2x24 on my frag tank and have the frags 3-5 inches under the water. Most of the frags get more light in the frag tank than in the main display tank.

You also want to consider what you want to do with your frag tank. Do you want growth or color. I would suggest that that answer selects your bulb choice, and not the "look of the tank."

I would probably do a blue Plus and aquablue special and be done. You could always add another set of 2 T5's if you decide you want more growing power. At this time - just place your SPS in the middle and other frags to the outside.

-Good luck!
