Flow in a 75g - VIDEO !!

Was bored so I busted out the cheap HD cam and shot a bit of the tank with my newest wave setting on the MP40.

Think I have enough flow?

(Dont expect great camera work as I have never shot the tank before and wasnt sure how the settings would show or what focus mode to use - and yes my wife was watching Dog Whisperer even though we dont have a dog)

Looks good. One vortech works well with open rock work.

Is it in pulse/wave mode?

Thanks!

As for the flow rate ... the MP40 maxes out around 3000 gph ... this is running just a hair under wide open ... so probably 2500-2800 gph?

Yes, it is in the Blue Mode (short pulse aka wave)

Sweet. How high is it mounted on the glass?

One more thing. Do you find pulse mode to be noisey? I had to change to reef crest because of the noise.

Wow, pretty nice wave action there. Only one vortech...man I gotta get me one of those.

Its mounted a few inches below the water level. You can see it in the vid.

Yes the pulse mode (at this speed) does make some noise on the dry side. You can hear it ramping up and down

Yea its VERY green -- Ill shoot another vid when its just actinics ;)

Got it from the LFS ... they get em every now and then but this one just really seems to love my tank and colored up like crazy. None of theirs ever are this bright even in their display tank

Looks like one I seen at a petsmart recently, would any of you have any links to one of these or a good source price wise?

The thing you saw at petsmart may have been a Koralia. Not at all the same thing :)

These things cost like $400 and you can find them at MarineDepot.com and DrsFosterandSmith.com.

They are also a sponsor here (EcoTech Marine)

I did a quick test with it at full blast tonite (instead of the 95-98% in the vid) and got the water to splash out of the tank a bit ;)
