No. Too small of a tank.

Unless the tang is a baby and you plan a upgrade in the very near future.

I've even heard that tangs, in a small tank, switch from herbivores to carnivores and devour their owner while trying to clean the glass.

:eek2:

Nope, need at least a 75 gal to consider any kind of tang and much more for most species. They are vigorous swimmers, grow quickly, and most get pretty big.

Good thing that you checked first, otherwise the tang police would have likely shown up on your doorstep. :lolspin: :lolspin: :lolspin:

I would say 100 gallons. Check out Dr's F&S Live Aquaria site. They have requirements for each fish.

I have a 6' 125g; I purchased 4 yellowtangs at the same time from my nephew who was moving out of the area. I have two modded Maxijets, and they love to enter the stream of the jet and get rocketed to the other side of the tank. It is almost like an amusement park ride for them. They love to swim and swim quickly.

do whatever you want to do. If you happy with a tang in 29 gallon, go for it.

I think you have to respect the guidelines for tank size required for different species. Remember these guidelines are suggested minimums! Happy fish = Happy person;)

Doesn't it matter if the fish is happy?
