I normally order from the good Dr.'s, but just had to place an order with a competitor because of your shipping prices. I ordered 2 175 watt 20K XM's and your shipping was going to be 12.xx for up to 7 day delivery (and I was afraid you would use the Fed-Ex Smartpost crap which no doubts would have taken 7 days). I was able to have them shipped from CA for 14.xx for 3 day delivery. I do appreciate you shipping prices on salt, but some of the other prices could be adjusted some. Just some feedback on why I chose to buy from another well known supplier instead of you.

crab0000,

Thank you for contacting us. The cost of shipping and handling remains a concern to both you and us. We do understand that the charges may seem inappropriate at times, especially when ordering smaller goods or quantities. However, orders both small and large, require the same number of people to process and ship the order.

Some companies prefer to reflect this in higher product costs, minimum order sizes or by charging a percentage of the shipping and handling costs as a separate consideration. We are concerned with customer satisfaction and service and chose to offer standard ground shipping charges based on the dollar amount of the customers order.

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact us.

I like the prices at DFS, but the (really) long time it takes to ship to california would be a major reason I would buy somewhere else. I just placed an order and I got the Fed-Ex smartpost shipping, absolutely nothing in the tracking status other than the tracking number. DFS already ships some corals from California, maybe they can setup a shipping point there as well, the volume of order from CA alone can probably justify that.

d0ughb0y,

Thank you for your post. We do apologize, however our only supplies warehouse is located in Rhinelander, Wisconsin.

If you would like to PM us with your customer information we would be happy to code your file so that all future orders are shipped using FedEx only. If we can be of any further assistance, please feel free to contact us.

I understand; just wanted to let you know. BTW, the bulbs were actually a little cheaper there too. To get comparable shipping I would have had to spend $10-15 more at F&S.
