Why? I don't understand. From one day to the other - dead.

My midas blenny was on the rock yestarday, not swimming as much as he used to, but he did swim when I came up to the tank. He was just there relaxing I guess.

I come home from school - no blenny.

What happened? I check the sump, nope. I look next to the zoanthid colony - a blenny head and its spine.

What could of have happened to it? Perfectly healthy blenny just decides to die overnight? How is that possible?

if things keep dying I would test water par. and try to find out what the problem is ASAP.

We can't help you without important information like all your water par. That should be done before buying a fish. You may think your water is fine because all your other fish are doing fine, but thats because they have gradually become adapted to those waters Par. No one can do anything with out testing your water, only guess what to tell you.

could be, but highly unlikely. I do agree that we need to know a lot more about the setup and water parameters of late before we can start hypothesizing reasons, as well as the history of that particular fish.

Sorry..! I forgot to mention all the details, I was in a rush.

water parameters:

nitrate:0
nitrites:0
ammonia:0
Ph:8.2
Sg:1.026

I do a water change every 2 weeks of only 5 gallons.

My six line wrasse is still there, and was the first fish to be in. He also never showed aggression towards the blenny. And the CUC has also been there, not a single death.

So how long was the blenny in the tank?

Sounds to me you have a lurking predator in the tank. Maybe a Mantis shrimp or predatory crab.

The blenny was in the tank since early last month. Six line wrasse, 2 months.

Waterkeeper, are you sure? All my LR is cured. And I don't hear any clicking, ect.

The only crab in my tank is my green emerald crab, but it couldn't have been him. He was far away from the blenny when I found it.

Do a little peeking around after lights out with a red lensed flashlight. A lot of these characters are night stalkers. I'm not sure but it is worth checking out.

That is how I found my Gorilla crab eating my RBTA. It made me cry! ;(

Yep, check for predators. Just because the rock is cured doesn't mean that there aren't critters in it.

Just sit back and observe. Guaranteed you'll see something if you poke around enough. Day or night.

Well. I shouldn't say "guaranteed". :D
