Are velcro brand fasteners a good choice or is there a better way to do it?

that would be fine - i use a couple short wood screws that will fit into the slots on the back of the strip

I use a couple of short pan head screws, sort of like billdogg suggested. It give me peace of mind knowing it's not going to fall off into my sump!

Lots of good velcro will work, but I would also suggest the screws, less chance of it falling.

If you have the thickness in the wood on the stand I would definitely go with screws for peace of mind.

I would take it s tep further and NOT use the powerstrip... Build your own using high quality (commerical or hostpital grade) receptacles and PVC boxes.

Nail gun....

Just in case I better say I'm kidding so no one tries it haha. But really if you have a sump mounting your power strip in the stand above it is a pretty bad idea IMO. I also would not use velcro if there is a chance the strip will land in water or even just get wet if it falls..

For those of us with very little electrical acumen is there a thread or photos you could link us to on that idea?

Thanks,
