This unit comes with a backup float switch that kills power to the entire pump.

I have it set well above the water line but when I plug it into the unit it appears to kill the power, the light that normally blinks just stops blinking.

Any idea what I did wrong? The PDF instructions online for the unit do not address this problem.

Also, I understand the Fill mode, it keeps the aquarium topped off. What exactly is the drain mode for?

For some strange reason, it sounds like the float is "upside down".

Try this: remove the c-clip that keeps the float on its stem. Turn it over and re-install the float on the stem and re-attach the clip. If that doesn't work, we will send you a new float.

Drain mode could be used to keep a waste water barrel or sump more empty than full. BIG aquariums could use it to do large water changes, paired with another UPLC-II doing the Fill mode.

We will have a version that has a relay and some easy connectors instead of the LM Pump so any size pump can be used with the level control.

Worked like a charm. Thanks Scott!
