i currently have a red sea prizm deluxe protein skimmer, but i am doing an upgrade on most of my equipment. are there any other hang on skimmers that would be more efficient enough to be worth buying?

depends on how much you want to spend.. I would try the Tunze line skimmers. They're not exactly 'hang on' but 'hang in' tank.. very quiet, reliable skimmers.

I have a BakPak and love it. A lot of people have tried and like the Aqua C Remora.. although I tried it and didn't like it at all.. too loud, and didn't produce enough (if any skimmate)..

I have also heard the Deltecs are great skimmers, but are pricey.

For the price Corallife super skimmers well atleast the 125 has done me good. When in HOB setup bubble trap is huge, you can use a small micron sock which works better. And it can be used as an insump skimmer as well if you ever decide to use a sump in the future.

I have a Coralife SuperSkimmer hang on tank, love it. I keep it super clean and it works well. I clean the cup every few days and break the whole thing down every two weeks for cleaning. I just use hose water and a tooth brush to clean but after a few more months I will probably use strong vinegar to remove the concretions forming on the inside.
