So I came home from work yesterday and like usual I walked over to my fish tank to feed and have a look to see what’s new. After a second I realized that one of my clown fish is missing, odd there usually always together. I put a RTBA in last week and thought he may have found it. So I started looking between the rocks where the anemone has settled and I still can’t find him. I know this fish is a trooper because he was one of the first fish I got for the tank. So I start looking every where still nowhere to be found. The only think I could think is maybe he’s in an over flow, so get on my tippy toes and look over the top of the canopy and to my surprise I see him swimming there, as I’m watching him for a second I thought I saw another clown fish and thought maybe it was his reflection. I grabbed a chair to get a better look and there was another clown I couldn’t believe it. About 6 months earlier I purchased an Onyx (more like a true perc) clown from an online reef store and he was a hardy little fish but had also just disappeared out of the blue one day. I thought he died because I purchased another fish form an online store and he died so didn’t think much of it. I’m happy to say that all three are getting along and doing fine, eating healthy and no one is being singled out.
Does anyone else have a crazy lost and found stories?
Nice story. Thanks for sharing it.

Try something like this on your overflow. It keeps the clowns in the tank where they belong:

This is going to sound crazy but this was just posted on my local forum. This story is about a Regal Tang that got lost and found again. I hope I'm not stealing anyone's thunder, I didn't know how to link to it:
I sold D.... some rocks that I took out of the tank around 6:40 a.m., maybe a little earlier. I drove to meet him at Greenspoint Mall and he showed up around 7:30. When I showed him the rock he saw her inside a piece of tonga that he was getting so we spent a few minutes trying to get her out. We finally gave up and he ran her home to try to save her.
That's a long time for a little baby hippo.
What time did you actually get her in the tank D....?
And the response:
S.... - Got home at 8 and she was back in water at 8:05. Finally made it out of the tonga around noon.
Pretty amazing, an hour and 25 minutes out of water and it survived!

well, I started out my tank with a trio of firefish, but about 2-3 months into it, one was lost. I wasnt too surprised, figured he had died and the CUC had finished him off.
well, about three months later, I was lceaning to sump and noticed some red. moved rock and decided it was my imagination (had been thinking about him earlier in the day). then, about three weeks later I removed all the rocks, and low and behold there was my firefish, a bit skinny but otherwise okay!
he was in an unlight, unfed tank with about 4 open pump intakes, for around 5 months in all, and he lived!
Both stories are crazy. fish are most def resiliant.
Ive lost a yellow tang around 4-5" just completly dissapeared one day. Even removed all he rocks to see if he died but nothing was ever found of him... ever, anywhere inside or outside the aquarium
had a to split firefish and one of them i tought was dead for a maybe a month but when I decided to remove all my rocks there he was, real skinny and pale. Nothing like your story though.
