After a problem with my reactor selonoid my alk rose up too quickly too fast causing some burnt tips on torts and other acros, but since healed, but my once beautiful pink/orange monti digi took it the worst and bleached out over night. It's fully encrusted up high and has been a white out for over a month now with signs of dead spots. Should I just leave it and hopefully it will recover or try to pry it off and move down lower......tia

over sixty views and only one opinion to pull it....I don't like to move corals and further stress it so it will stay....

Alk spike caused that to half of my acro's.. Polyps were out but bleached and I woke up next morning to all the flesh torn off every acro. Gone completly in a matter of 8 hours.

If it still has polyps its still alive ..bleached dose not mean dead.. i would move it down and give it time

thanks... the polyps are still out so I took a frag off and placed it down low too see if it helps or not.

weird I just had that happen to a monti... polyps still out and everything... did great for months and all of a sudden bleached on me. I am curious what happened too. I am also having some issues with a couple other sps as well, any other corals looking like they are losing their color?

Agreed. Mike you should get a big frag or 2 in some other tanks. As for the colony, frag off dead spots and place in lower light(as you have already done).

check your alk...I knew there was a problem with my alk before the bleaching of the monti when i saw my tort's tips turning white. I slowly started to adjust it back, but the next day the monti went....
Rich ..I really can't frag off the dead spots because they are on the main branchs so I'm just cleaning them off and hopefully they'll recover...If I don't see any inprovement in the next few weeks i'm really considering prying off the whole colony and move it to the bottom...
