I have a 150g SPS dominated tank and have a lot of nice corals that I need to protect in case of power outage. I would prefer not to run a generator as I do not have room for that. I was thinking about an APC battery backup.

I have lost power in the past and it has always been back on within 48 hours at the most. I have 2 Tunze 6101's on a 7095 controller and was thinking about plugging those in. They use between 5-32W and I run them about 20% (never at the same time with the program I run). I am not good with electricity stuff. Would like to get input on whether an APC unit would run this scenario for 48 hours. Perhaps an APC unit rated for 1500-1600W?

Also, would this be enough to keep things alive? I would sacrifice all light and all other pumps during an outage. All input would be appreciated.

I use the APC UPS 1500 to back up one of my tunze 6055. I calculated that it will run by 6055 for over 8 hrs.

I had 2 penn plax B11 airstone run for 36 hours in my tank and that was all that was needed during a hurricane power outage this year. As long as you have another means to regulate temperature if needed (though for 2 days, a battery backup isnt going to help with that anyways), the airstones will suffice (and I also have a 150 gallon SPS dominated tank).

I have a deep marine trolling battery in my garage with a 12v inverter that goes up to 500 watts so when the power goes out I plug in my return pump and my 300 watt heater and it runs for at least two days
