the koralias are doing whirlaways in my tank. mini tornados that connect to the koralia...is this normal?

Have you tried placing the Koralias lower in the water? I don't have Koralias, but I do have modded MJ's. When they are too close to the surface of the water, I get them mini tornadoes, as you put it. :)

what flipsideleo said :)
but then again, i have also seen koralia's near the surface without that whirlwind/tornado you're talking about so maybe it is a problem?

Just lower them so they are deeper in the tank. When I do a water change mine do the same thing.

I wouldn't see it as a problem unless it was actually sucking air into the K pump causing microbubbles. My Tunze Streams do it occasionally NBD! If you're concerned, do like the others suggest and lower it an inch or two.

Lowering it a little will stop this Vortex problem. However, as mentioned, unless it's sucking in air and blowing out micro bubbles...the vortex isn't causing any harm.

well my tank has always been throwng microbubbles, i will lowewr a bit but that might change my perfectly achieved flow position :(
