I'm in need of a new NW pump for my DIY recirc skimmer. I currently have a Sedra 5000. Can I get some recommendations on either already modified pumps, or one I could make myself (NW/mesh mod)?

The skimmer is 4" diameter, about 3' tall to the very top of the neck. A recirculating design (huh, who knew I made a recirc skimmer before they sold recirc skimmers? :D ) fed by a small pump, and gate valved return. So it has two 3/4" holes for the NW pump. The skimmer is external, so I would *prefer* a pump that holds together a bit more securely than a sedra.

TIA for any help.

I'm currently building a DNW150 clone, external recirc, and plan on useing a mag3 with mesh mod. I like the mag pumps, reliable and fairly quite.

I was not even aware you could mod a mag :o How does it work? Can any pump be modded, as long as a venturi is placed in front of it?
