If you're going with SE bulbs powered by a regular magnetic ballast, go with the Ushios. If overdriving the bulbs with an HQI ballast, DEFINITELY go with the XMs. XM does give better growth overall than any bulb I've ever used though.

I've had very good luck with Ushio 10k HQIs. Good color and growth. But I have never tried XMs.

vader^^^ imma be running DE bulbs with electronic ballasts, although they are the stock oddyssea ballasts at the moment so, more like underdriving lol...

Ushio's 10K will have the best grow rate by far, but the xm 15k or 20k will show better colors.

I had Ushio DE 250W before and it was pretty darn yellow. Never tried the XM

I have one now combined with 2 VHO actinics which helps with the yellow, but the growth rate is strong.

The 10K Ushio's look great combined with Super Actinics.
I am using 3 250W 10Ks on a 210.
