Are teh thick spined urchins reef safe? The one I have keeps crawing over the soft corals, dont see him eating them, but he seems to have taken a liking to moving over them.

i like the <a href="http://liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=497+530+595&pcatid=595&N=0">blue tuxedos</a>. They are reef safe and don't get very big.

+1 on the blue tux. I just added one to my 90 and they're very cool. They have less of a tendecy to push rock over or bulldoze corals. So far, mine as been a model citizen.

depends on how you define reef safe. they're not going to eat corals in most all cases, but they're bruisers that knock everything around. I'd lean towards getting a smaller one as well.

Which tank is the urchin in? Diadema and blue tuxedo are reef safe I have both in a 120 gallon reef.

Reef safe....yes. Reefer safe....NO.....dang spikes! Ouch.

As already mentioned, they do move around and knock stuff over.
