I posted this in the newbie forum but never got a clear answer and thought I might get some help here. He was about 1/2" long and I first noticed him clinging to the glass. In the dish he swam around kind of like a snake or crocodile would. Could anyone let me know what he was and if he was good or bad?

Thanks a lot!

Quite possibly what you have is from the Family Phyllodocidae (http://www.seamonsters.noaa.gov/communityDetail.aspx?tsn=65228). You'll find some really cool pictures at Chucks Addiction (http://www.chucksaddiction.com/) plus tons of other creatures. Go to info links and then hitch hikers. Chuch has written some excellent articles as well.

Thanks David. That was my first instinct as well. Chuck's website has saved me quite a few sleepless nights wondering what things are. Was it a good idea to remove this worm? It doesn't seem as though they are all that common but he was pretty freaky looking.

Sounds like it eats some of the more beneficial type worms, and little inverts. I would get rid of it.
