I'm using your CF-0.5 -10 rated for 20k gals. I've had it in place for about 14 months and I estimate I've put about 4k gals through it. I use well water so chlorine is probably not present.

Also...please outline the sanitizing method for me please.

The rating relates to 20K gallons of 1 ppm chlorine. Without chlorine, the carbon filter will eventually clog up with super-fine organic matter. I can't tell you how long that will be. Your pressure will drop and you will know.

Sorry. Remove the vertical pre-filters and horizontal membrane. Stop up the yellow drain line with a ball valve or similiar. Put 4 oz. of bleach in the first housing. Turn on the tap water and let the housings fill. Stop up the blue line and hold for a couple of hours when water comes out the blue tube.

If you have a bladder tank, then let the tank also fill with bleach/water until the flow stops. Rinse thouroughly, filling the housings and bladder tank several times with tap water and draining them.
