I'm ordering power heads for my tank.
20 gallon reef, 24" long, 12" wide, 16" deep

No sps.

Softies...
Zoas, mushrooms, leathers/branching , xenia

LPS...
Frogspawn, Brain (maybe), some moderate light LPS

Cleanup crew and the best 3 or 4 cleaning fish for a 20 gallon reef.

I'm going to get Koralia's. What combo should I get?

1 Koralia Nano 240gph = 240gph total

2 Koralia Nano 240gph = 480gph total

1 Koralia #1 400gph = 400gph total

2 Koralia #1 400gph = 800gph total

1 Koralia Nano + 1 Koralia #1 = 640gph total

Or any other suggestion.

Thanks.

Not sure if any Power heads look good. Is there a better looking reasonable priced power head out there?

are you going to add a sump to your setup, because if you do you can take out some of the power heads because your returns will give you added flow.

+1 on the return from sump.. but I have two K1 in my 30 and think I need to get rid of one and get a K2 just not enough flow I also have the return from my sump, The nano is pretty useless I have one but I put it in my sump just to keep thing moving

2 2s imo, they are not as powerful as the manufactures suggest, i have a couple i dont think they look out of place either, go for 2 2s

The return from your sump should not be your primary source of flow. Water should move relatively slowly through your sump. I'd probably go with two K1s. The K2s would probably be fine as well, but may be a bit much depending on what you're planning to keep and the layout of your rockwork. The Koralias are actually just as powerful as the manufacturer suggests, but since the flow is so diverse, it doesn't seem like a lot when you compare it to something with a narrow flow stream like a Maxijet. Michael's point is still valid, though. Even though 400gph sounds like a ton of flow, since it's spread across such a wide area, you really don't have to worry too much about it blowing things around.

I'm using Fluval 205 canister filter, no sump. The return is 110gph, so not to much there. Kinda thinking about, 2x Koralia #1's. That is a 910 gph total flow rate. That is about 45 times water turn over per hour on a 20 gallon tank. That's not to much is it?
