I am wondering if I can detach frag plugs when I buy frags from SPS? Does it hurt the frag? I feel irked having to plug the ceramic plug into the rocks. I realize overtime itll over grow i.

Yes, you can usually just snap it off if you want, then mount where you want it, after light acclimation of course. Good luck

yes, that's what I do with mine, I use small pieces of live rock instead, look more natural.

I cut off the T part, and glue down the disk that is left.

You can snap off the coral easily. Then if the plug is encrusted still and has some living tissue on it, put it in your frag rack to grow a new coral.

If it's not encrusted, most of the time you can just pop it off the plug. It shouldnt hurt the coral at all.

Hmm.. What do you mean by that?

Do you mean the adhesive I can snap off or the coral?

Well, they are SPS and I believe it has encrusted a bit, I didn't wanna stress the coral as they are kinda small. SHall I lay it where I want and then give time for it to attach onto the rocks b4, I break the plug?

Sorry if I'm confusing.

Thnaks.
