I put a new lobo in my tank yesterday and it looked perfectly healthy. When I woke up today I noticed it looked like it was on fire with thick stringy cobweb like things hanging off parts of the edges. Some parts look normal. Will it go back to normal? My tank params are fine, had over 2 yrs now and everything else looks great so i dont think thats the problem. also, It has two heads and it looks like its going to split.. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

is the skeleton showing, like the actual tissue is sloughing off the coral?

Hmm I'm not sure if its the skeleton or not.. it just looks like parts of it are melting. any ideas?

I cant take a pic yet, no cam, but I just looked again and I can see white specs which I think is the skeleton.. The cobweb stuff is stillflying around. Any ideas how to bring it back?

shoot it with a turkey baster and see what happens

if the flesh comes off, then yes, it is a goner for sure IMO

Do you know what feeding tentacles look like? Otherwise its probably sliming.

A photo would be very helpful, but if the strings look like cobwebs it's probably shooting out mesentaries. They usually do it as a defense or offense response to being too close to another coral. If the tissue doesn't seem to be completely melting off the skeleton I'd leave it alone and make sure it has plenty of space between itself and other corals.
