If they're custom does that mean we're going to face the same kind of ridiculous waiting times as we do for ATI?

You have two options

Standard
and
Custom

If you want a specific colour then just like anything custom yes there will be a wait

BUT the STANDARD full range will always be available.

Custom only applies if you want something different from the marketed range such as glary pink ;)

That's good news. So the retailers will actually stock these as opposed to ordering them as customers request them?

Who will be selling them in Canada?

All my dealers in canada will have access to them, PG in Victoria will stock them in fact they have the first wave.

if you give us enough notice we can get yours on the first batch, as you can see demand is massive!

Going offline now so I will repsond to all questions tomorrow first thing ;)

I want one. Presumably that's enough notice to get mine on the first batch. Let me know pricing on a 24" 6 lamp and 8 lamp fixture.

Any price and availability on a 48" 80w 6 bulb non dimmable fixture? And also the measurement of the reflectors from front to back, my tank opening is only 11 1/2" (damn oceanic).

Ok update

Light switching - planned that you can control every pair.

Sizes are planned to be -
24 Watt = 650 mm
39 Watt = 950 mm
54 Watt = 1250 mm
80 Watt = 1550 mm

Standard - width with 6 tube units will be 395mm then add a further 100mm per extra tube.

We have chosen as retail standard the following

24w = 6 tube
39w = 8 tube
54w = 10 tube
80w = 10 tube

Anyone wanting different than the retail standard is no trouble but falls into custom order with approx 6 week delivery

There will be an option to purchase the GHL Light II controller with interface with the dimming light units for those who dont have a GHL at a special reduced price, this will give you full light control and climate moon phasing as well as temp control and Tunze stream control as well So we are working on some very advanced lighting packages for everyone.

lamps will come with control module so there will be only one power line coming out of the module, unlike other Fixtures that have 2 or more and maybe a DC line also

ALL lamps will come with LED moon lights installed, when the lamps go off the moon lights come on.

Dimming - To begin with 24w 39w and 54w will be made available in dimming, the dimming will be controlled by GHL ProfiLux, the ProfiLux simply plugs into the control module of the lamp fixture. 80w dimming will follow on possibly in February

The fixtures will be slightly wider than originally planned to incorporate the latest additions

Later next year there will be further advances in the dimming options

Availability - orders can be taken from late December for first wave shipping in late january, from then on there will be steady supply.

This is a fauna Marin Fixture but planned to incorporate much of GHL dimming technology for the dimmable fixtures making seemless control simple

Thats it for now but i am sure you will agree this fixture is turning out to be hard to beat

100mm per every tube? Dont you mean 100mm for every 2 tubes? Otherwise, thats almost 4" for every tube/reflector... must be very nice reflectors indeed!! I take it from the 395mm/6 bulb unit that each reflector is about 2" wide...

This looks like a very nice unit, and I look forward to it... one of the only 5' options out there if nothing else.

Also, how do you get the 98% reflectivity? Isnt that just the material reflectivity? The geometry impacts the final result more than anything...

In which case, I might ask... is Claude going to be sending me reflector samples finally for me to include in the T5 comparisons? He keeps saying he will... days go by...
