Does anyone keep an Asfur angel in their reef? If so, what kind of corals do you keep, and how does the angel do with them?

Thanks,
Alex

I don't have one, but I have heard they are one of the "safer" big angels for the reef. The guy at the LFS said he and his clients have had good results, but they haven't grown to full size yet either. I would also like to hear more on this topic. Asfurs are so awesome. I absolutely want one in the future.

I have a Majestic Angel, and if ever in a position to try another angel, I would like to try an Asfur. Of course, it is a gamble.

I think Copps had to remove his due to too much picking? I may be remembering that wrong....

I keep my fish really well fed, so we can only hope that it makes a difference. What other angels do well in reefs with soft corals?

My Potters Angels don't touch a thing. Not sure if you're interested in little angels or not. :)

I actually already have a flame, and I don't dare upset him. :)

That's cool. :)

Other than Genicanthus, I haven't found anyone say they have kept a large angel into full growth without problems. I find lots of people who try Majestic, Blue Face, Imperator, etc with success, but they are not BIG angels yet. The ones who have kept them that long say they just "snapped" overnight, usually.

I'm tagging along because I would LOVE to have something other than a Genicanthus!

For me my tank is still more a "fish tank" than it is a reef. I would rather if my fish didn't eat my corals, but it's still all about the fish for me. I would be more inclined to give away a coral that is being eaten than the fish who is enjoying it. And from what I have read it seems that LPS are the most touchy. Is that because they are physically fragile? I have only softies and one piece of SPS.
