View Full Version : NS500 skimmer air hose clogged

Any way to prevent this from happening? The hose trapped some water and turned into salt/calcium and clogged the hose resulting a nonworking skimmer.

I stopped using the supplied grey silincer on my skimmer and replaced it with a tom's aqua lifter prefilter. works good for me.

Also you should really suck some fresh RO water down the tube to prevent accumulation of salt and other minerals (once a week or more) Use a small cup of RO and stick the tube in it at a couple second intervals.
Happens to me every once in awhile too. When I'm lazy, I usually just squeeze it to break the built up apart, but occasional cleaning prevents it from happening too often.

can you post a pic or describe how you used this. my understanding is the salt builds up from below but if you are not getting a clog that would be huge!
