My frogspawn has gotten HUGE over the last year, it gone from 1 head to 8 and the heads just keep on splitting. But the stangest thing occured a few months back...one of the heads split and dropped a baby onto the sand. I thought that there was no way it would survive, it just looked like a mess of tenticles. But, I placed it in a hole in the rock and it has since grown it's own skeleton and is already splitting into 2 heads. Is this common? I didn't know it was possible.

My LFS just had a guy drop off a ton of frogspawn about 2-3 weeks ago. Apparently, the guy trades them a ton (100+ heads) every year, some of them as big branches and others as single, tiny clusters of tentacles. Before I saw it in the LFS tanks, I wouldn't have believed it.

Yes it's normal. Not sure if it purposely dropped to reproduce, or it fell/broke off and just healed itself, but it is normal.

Kellie, do you feed your frogspawn? Just wondering how yours is growing so fast. I would like mine to do the same.

Not anymore. I try, but it won't take food. Back in the beginning I could get it to eat Mysis, but not now!

Wow that sounds strange. Mine has never done that. I have had it over a year and it hasnt even split. Looks happy and healthy though.
