Ok so like generally speaking, peeps online say you can't have LPS corals in yer tank with PCs. i know there are like exceptions to the rule but can someone maybe outline what you can keep under PCs?

i have PCs and im not so sure about what corals i can keep.

Bubble Coral:
i have some white pearl looking bubble coral which is totally fine, growing, and pretty happy in the middle of my tank

Green Torch Coral:
i have one of these and its also doing fine around half-way too

Green Open Brain:
i have one of these at the bottom on the sand and she's doing pretty good too. i feed her at night along with the torch and bubble.

so that's 3 LPS that i have an seem to be doing ok, but maybe i'm just delusional and they're supposed to look different but they totally look colorful and happy.

i've also read that Blastomussa might be ok and maybe some clams too. i was totally depressed when i realized i had PCs and everyone here slams them as pretty much useless but even Melev's first tank had PC lights i think. anybody else know of other things i could get that are LPS/SPS that would be ok under PC lights (i have the coralife lunar aqualight delux 4x65W over a 65G)

SPS, no. Clams, i say no but if you put it at the top it may be ok. iv heard of people doing so before.

but alot of LPS can do fine under PCs, bubbles especially.

melev's reef said he had a T.Maxima under PC lights and was fine at the top of the tank (actually i think he said it jumped after awhile to the sand and it was fine).

i say no on the SPS and clams. some LPS will do ok depending on what it is and were it is placed.

i wouldnt put a blasto under PC personally. i have PC on 2 of my tanks and i hate them. my blasto did not like the PC lights so it is now under my MH

some people have had luck with keeping them under PC lights but they really do need alot more lighting. not worth taking the chance of killing the clam and wasting your money. just save up for a new light and go from there.

Montis . . . eh maybe, some do prefer moderate light. but you still want a nice mature tank (set up about a year)

Acans im not sure, i think they are moderate light but love to be fed.

clams, thats what i said. up at the top should be fine.

I Know a customer who comes into the store i work at, that has kept a Crocea in a 24 gallon JBJ for a year.(basic, 2 36w? compacts)
This little clam hasn't grown much, But seems happy, and colorful.
I would never do this myself.
But back when i had some nice compact bulbs. 5w-10w watts per gallon. I was successfully keeping, Candycane corals,(these were the fastest growers for me in my tank) Bubble corals, Lobos (Lobos and brains did not do as well for me, But i am almost sure it had to do with water chemistry and not lighting). Tubinaria scroll Corals,Which did O.K., Hammer corals... Then of course i had my basic softies, kenya trees toadstools, mushrooms.
