I have a 90 tank I want to add a refugium system and need a good quiet pump. I have no prior experience with pumps and theres too many to choose from. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

quiet one pumps, the internals run a 45dbs so it is about a quiet library and i can't hear mine running except when i start it up then the noise disappears and silence :)

I have run Quiet One pumps, they have been OK to me. Mine however have not been to quiet. Another good suggestion would be Ocean runner or Ehiem. Mag Pumps And I have not gotten along so well.

I'm a believer in Quiet One pumps. They are among a very small group of inexpensive, high flow, low-wattage pumps with 1" threaded in/out ports. Mag pumps are pricey, much noisier, run hotter and have 3/4" ports. I have no experience with other submersible pumps.

Depends on what you're wanting to accomplish. Your refugium shouldn't have more than about 4x or 5x capacity flow through it. You should get the rest of your flow from power heads or a closed loop system. If you were to get something like a Quiet One 3000, you'd have plenty of flow and enough excess capacity to tap off for a couple of accessories like a carbon reactor.
