This is a 6 month old Reef Tank. My first go at it, after a successful run with a FOWLR. Comments/ Questions!

The only problem I am experiencing right now is what I believe to be diatoms growing on the rock. I originally had my light cycle set to 13 hours (the diatom exploded then), I have since tuned it down to only 8 hours. My parameters are the following:

NO3: 0.2
Phosphates: Undetectable
Calcium 410-450
dKH: 9
MG: 1300-1400 (I use Elos)
SG; 1.026

I have been using RO/DI since the start. I hate how the rocks look brown. Has anyone ever experienced this? Whenever I move my corals around, the spot that has been shaded by the coral would be covered with coralline in a short period of time, the diatom doesn't return.

This one really took off since I've acquired it. Grew from a single 1" branch to this in 4 months. (I do know they grow fast, but let me have my moment of minimum success!0

Rock on. Looks pretty good. You're using a lot of same equipment I use on my tank. I love the light and hate the overflow. Get a bunch of snails, they'll eat the diatoms. And watch those pygmy angels, they're little bastards and will probably go bad on you one of these days.

Looks really good, you should have good success with SPS. You'll probably get a lot of folks questioning the naso and hippo tang in the 55, but it seems to be headed in the right direction.

I think you need a 3rd tang in that 55 to help the diatom problem :D

Thanks for the compliments. Those tangs will be heading into a 500g tank soon (DT at my job), but because they are still relatively small, I would like to enjoy their presence for a little while longer :P

Umm, which tang would you recommend?

..Just playing along with your joke.
