Anyone have some mangrove trees in any part of their system?

I have 5 that I keep in my refugium...in water only. They have never been placed in sand but I want to do that now. What kind of sand is best? I have sugar sized sand in my refugium...and would I be disturbing too much of the DSB in the fuge to bury these guys? I have an open 'chamber' that I can add sand to for them...how deep and what type of sand?

Also what lighting is best? Any kind of light? How much room does each individual tree need from the others?

Thanks

Any sand or no sand is fine. They do best under Metal Halide but most any light will be fine, they just grow slower. No space needed at all. I have bunches of them tied together.

I would recommend misting them once a week or so to rid their leaves of salt. They extract salt from the water and through their leaves. Magnesium levels should also be maintained.
