So having brought my first fish home and enjoying watching them in their quarantine tank with a bare bottom, and a couple 4" PVC fittings I had kicking around... I was pondering how I could 'dress the tank up for my enjoyment and the fishes, but still not have any place to harbor any parasite and easily cleaned if I do have to treat them.
I have some 1" white UHMW (I use it at work, and a couple applications in some non fish related stuff)
heres a link, as I suspect people don't usually deal with it in their life
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyneema
So my thought was, that with a couple pieces some superglue and a die grinder, I could make a more natural bottom, and "medication and parasite safe" reef
I do know its suseptible to 'oxidizing acids' and being a fan of older cars, I do know about salt and rust.
Just wonder if anyone knows for sure.
