Who doses day vs night? Does it matter?

I split the does...one in am and one in pm. Usually, lights on in am and off in pm. Doesn't seem to matter.

Dose when lights are on and O2 is at it's highest.

Dosing a carbon source causes the bacteria to grow and will deplete O2 to some degree. If you have good water turn over and directed to the surface, this will help over come this problem.

FWIW, I dose a large amount of vinegar in my top-off, which runs 24/7 and I have had no issues with low O2, at least, I am unaware of it. Low O2 is something to take into consideration.

Anyone have a link to some articles on Vodka dosing as a replacement for GFO?

Perhaps I have just had my head buried in the sand and have missed it... but I see alot of people (especially SPS keepers) using this method of phosphate control recently.

Some people run GFO in addition and some do not and use vodka as a method for phosphate control. There was an article about it here.
