I had 2 on my previous tank. They work great with a large enough pump. The only problem is that you have to keep an eye on the flow, as eventually, they will gunk up in the gears. But its an easy fix by soaking or running in vinegar!

I run them on both my tanks and really like them. I recommend them.

They take up about 1/3 of the flow IIRC. I have one on my 115g, and its loud, not sure if thats normal or not, though.

The couple that I have run perfectly and have taken years to get dirty enough to warrant cleaning.

If you go with a scwd spend the money for the larger 1 inch version. it is easer to clean than the 3/4 inch version.

I like the on I have setup, but I do have to clean it about every couple of months. Plus they do create quite a bit of a restriction so they decrease the flow quite a bit(3/4 inch version)

Getting the 1 inch over the 3/4 inch, will not reduce your flow, it will actually increase it since the openings on the sqwdof are much larger so you will have less friction loss. After the sqwd you can neck down your outlets to increase the velocity of the water coming out if you want to.
