I want to buy it off of craigslist, but the guy said he can't find the brand anywhere on the filter.

There are literally hundreds of small vendors selling RO and RO/DI systems so an identification may not be possible. It really does not matter who assembled it as long as it uses standard replacement filters which that one appears to.
Buying a used system can be risky as you have no idea the condition of the membrane which is the most expensive part to replace.
As long as you look at it as buying housings and fittings and not a 100% functioning system it may be worth it. If they want much more than $50 I might would pass since the cost of a replacement prefilter, carbon block, membrane and DI resin is around $70-$80. The unit as you picture it can be had new for just over $100.

You need to know how old the filters are, what membrane it has and how long it has been out of service. if the membrane has been allowed to dry out it probably needs replacing and is $40 or more by itself.
