old mag float not working so good

My mag float seems to be wearing out. It's not cleaning the glass like it used too. Has anyone tried putting the the rough side of velcro on a mag float? It looks like the same material. Do you think it'll scratch the glass?

I would just buy a new one they are pretty cheap

Pretty cheap compared to what 3 inches of velcro? I'm not sure if its the same material but if you can get by with a 25 cent piece of velcro and 10 cents of super glue I say go for it. Why spend another 15-20 bucks for another mag float?

well i have a spare one that came with my Piranha float and the back of the strip just says Velcro so i assume that is all it is.

The replacement pad for my Hammerhead Float is nothing more than the rough side of the velcro tape.

If it is a true Magfloat, they make replacement pads. that Pet Place is a sponsor here and sells them. I didn't know it until I saw them there this past weekend. Comes with the rough side and the smooth side.
