Hi,

Which fixture setup would benefit my BTA the most?

A) 48" 2X150w MH + 4X54W T5
B) 48" 2X250w MH + 4X54W T5

I have a 55g +30g refugium setup

Thanks

Really either one would work. BTAs are on the lowest end of light requirements for hosting anemones.

Do you plan on keeping anything else in the tank that would require the 250 watt fixture?

I'm not sure what other species would require 250W.
Currently I have softies and a small frag of birds nest and Acropora.
Do you think 2 X150 hqi set up would be enough wattage ?

Thanks again

It will be enough for the anemone. If you plan on keeping any SPS on the sand bed ( or a clam ) then I would bump it up to 250, otherwise you will be fine with 150s.

I'd stick with 150 halides over a 55 gallon. That's plenty of light, and you won't have as many issues with heat in the summertime. Plus you get the added benefit of saving 200+ watts per hour of electricity.

Thanks,

Has anyone tried /heard of anyone having success keeping Anemone's using any of the LED fixtures?
