hi all,, im trying to find out what this thing is,, its encrusting? or at least growing into my live rock,, it has short little hair like polyps on it,, green and brown mix,, any ideas
how about a picture? could be anything by that description.

sounds like an encrusting monti to me. i had one go apeshit on a section of my tank not too long ago, it spread very quickly. picture would be helpful though.

i am hoping this helps,, i figured encrusting monti,, but the little hair all over threw me,, it is actually fuzzy,, i know the pic is bad,, im learning lol

Pavona? It's hard to tell from the pic, but the color would match some examples I've seen.

Ahh, load the pics up at another site such as flickr or imageshack and then insert them in your post.

i have a hydronophora,, and it isnt hairy,, the better pic shows the surface perfect,, i think mine is what ever that one is,,lol

It's probably a pavona of some sort then, really pretty coral. I've never been able to get good pics either, although my local club organizes classes from time to time. I have a crummy point and shoot and I can't get good focus or color ever. I'd rather put the money into my tank than the camera I suppose. So I just link to Marc Levenson's site www.melevsreef.com when I can.
caragol's picture looks like pavano, which is a neat but aggressive coral.

souds like pavona/cactus coral wins it,, mine is just flat for some reason lol,, i guess it will grow up when its ready,,
