i am in the process of sitting up my oceanic 50 tank. i have 2 nanos right now...a biocube 8 & CADLights 12. the biocube 8 has a red sea star in it & the 12 has a chocolate chip star in it.

i plan on moving everything (fish, inverts, corals, CUC) over to the new tank when it's ready.

will these 2 stars get along in the tank?? how many different breeds could i put in the tank??? looking on liveaquaria, i'd like to have the purple linckia & fancy red serpent

Neither of these stars should really be in that tank, especially when it's newly set up. The chocolate chip will eat the corals and even a small Fromia is likely to slowly starve in such a small tank.

Serpent and brittle stars are really the only options likely to do well in a tank of that size. Linckia multifora might be ok after the tank has aged for a year or so, but again, not in a new tank. None of the larger species of Linckia are viable options.
