Rebuilding my 75 gallon tank into a jawfish tank and I'm looking for suggestions for types of LPS corals to add to the tank.

8 inch sandbed. No rocks on bottom.

I have 3 aqua mag rocks on the rear wall for corals.

I took down my tunze pump and seio and replaced with 2 koralia 1s.

My lights are a 4 bulb t5 icecap 54 watt bulbs, 2 aquablue, 2 blue plus

What types of LPS corals would work well in the tank?

Ideally I'd like stuff like acans, blastos, chalice and things like that.

Also does anyone recommend t5 bulbs that would make the colors pop? I think grimreefer gave me a suggestion of adding a procolor bulb that might enhance the reds.

thanks for any help

you could do just about any LPS with that setup. You'd just need to make sure the jawfish doesn't bury them.

As far as bulb recommendations go, I'm not a T5 user, but I think I remember hearing good things about Giesmann bulbs. I like playing with different bulb types on my tank so I'd experiment with different combos and see what you get.

the aquasun by UVL will bring out the reds real nice, only problem is that it is very overpowering ( pink bulb) I would look into the 75/25 by UVL as well( also pink but not as overpowering 14K bulb)

And yes you could do any LPS with that setup. SPS as well

I like ATI bulbs personally, and tend to lean towards the bluer spectrum (with their aquablue and blue plus bulbs, of which I have three of each on my tank right now, along with a pair of actinics).

In your case, you could keep almost any LPS you liked. Many euphyllia make good start LPS corals, such as frogspawn and hammer corals.

Thanks for the input.

I actually had a huge frogspawn in my tank before I tore it down. i had to tear the tank down because my ugly mushrooms overgrew all my zoas, clams etc and all my live rock. In fact the frogspawn was the only thing that could fight off the mushroom invasion.

Frogspawn (as with many euphyllia) can be pretty powerful. Good luck with whatever you chose!
