I was at the LFS today, and he had 2 huge (12" or more) yellow anemones. He was selling them at 24.99 each. Is there something I should know about these?? I was thinking of getting one for my reef tank. I just think it was too big. It might hurt my fish or corals.

Pics? The first thing that comes in my mind when I think of a large yellow anemone is a dyed sebae (Heteractis crispa). If that's the case, there is a good chance the anemone won't survive.

I will get some pics when i get home. Is there a reason it wont survive?

The dye is harmful to the anemones tissue. Some anemones recover, but often times they die a few months later in the hobbyist's tank.

Was the light hard to make? Did it require a lot of money? How does it work?

Most of the time, bright yellow anemone are dye anemone, and should not be bought. A large yellow anemone for only 24.99 is almost certain on that will not live, or in rare instance that it like, it will change to brown because it is a dyed H. crispa. A good picture will really settle this issue
