Hey All,

A little new here and been doing alot of reading to get my new tank up and running. It seems that there is a general consensus to upgrade the stock pump to a Maxijet 900.

I've been able to find a Maxijet 1100 at the LFS that is a bit cheaper than the 900 on the web.

Will the 1100 fit and work or should I just go ahead and order the 900.

It may be too large for the flex outlet pipes. The force may keep pushing it away. Go and look for the size of each online and see how close the 1100 is to the 900. Then you will know if it can fit in the last chamber.

I run a 1200 with no problems. I have heard that the 1200 runshotter than the 900, but I only have the 1200 to go from and it's good. I would suggest a Koralia 1 or 2 to suppliment though.

I run the 900 with the Hydor FLO rotator and a Koralia nano to suppliment. I put the flo rotator on there just that the water flow isn't so static. It does take some flow away from the MJ900, but the Koralia nano makes up for it.

Did you replace those ugly hoses with the Hydor Flo rotator?
